Your Water Savings. Your Money. Your Privacy.

AgWaterAI uses patented technology to prove your irrigation savings are real — without ever sharing your private farm data with the government or anyone else.

Patent-pending cryptographic documentation builds your savings record from day one.

How Water Credits Work

California is running out of groundwater. The state created a system called SGMA (Sustainable Groundwater Management Act) that requires farmers to reduce pumping.

Farmers who use less water than their allocation may eventually be eligible for Water Restoration Certificates (WRCs) if water credit markets develop under SGMA. Companies that need to offset their water use could purchase these credits.

The problem: until now, there was no way to prove your savings were real without expensive manual audits that cost thousands of dollars and take months.

AgWaterAI solves this with patented verification technology that proves every gallon saved — automatically, in real time, without sharing your private data.

1

Your sensors measure water use in real time

IrriMAX soil moisture probes and pump monitors track exactly how much water your farm uses, every hour of every day.

2

Our AI calculates your actual savings

Our models (PULSE, SENTRY, WATCHDOG) compare your actual water use against conventional irrigation for your crop and region.

3

Every calculation gets a tamper-evident seal

Each step generates a digital fingerprint. If anyone changes a reading, adjusts a calculation, or alters an output, the seal breaks and the tampering is immediately detectable.

4

Your savings are cryptographically documented

Documented savings build your record for potential future Water Restoration Certificates. If water credit markets develop, the proposed structure is 70% farmer / 30% AgWaterAI.

Hypothetical Illustration

The following is a hypothetical example only. Water credit markets are subject to regulatory development and GSA approval. No specific credit revenue is guaranteed.

Farm size2,000 acres (Kern County)
Water saved this season500 acre-feet
Hypothetical WRC price~$4.00 per 1,000 gallons
Potential farmer share (70%)~$455,000
AgWaterAI fee (30%)~$195,000

Hypothetical illustration only. Actual results depend on whether water credit markets develop in your basin, WRC pricing, water savings achieved, and third-party auditor approval. AgWaterAI does not guarantee any specific revenue from water credits.

What We See. What We Don't.

Your private farm data stays on your farm.

What AgWaterAI Records

  • A digital fingerprint of your sensor readings
  • Whether the readings passed our quality checks
  • A mathematical proof that your savings were real
  • The final documented water savings figure

What AgWaterAI Never Stores

  • Your actual soil moisture readings
  • Your pump hours or extraction volumes
  • Your crop types or farming practices
  • Any data that could reveal your operations to competitors

Think of it like a bank statement

Your bank statement proves you have $50,000 in your account. It does not tell anyone how you earned it, what you spent it on, or anything about your business.

AgWaterAI records a mathematical proof that your water savings are real. We never record the raw sensor data that would reveal your irrigation strategy, your yields, or your operational details.

What About SGMA Reporting?

California law (Water Code Section 10726.4) requires you to report your actual groundwater extraction to your GSA every year. That legal requirement does not change.

What changes is this: AgWaterAI gives you verifiable proof that your reported number is accurate. If a regulator or water district ever challenges your report, you have mathematically verifiable evidence that your data is correct.

Today, farmers have no way to prove their numbers. With AgWaterAI, your SGMA report comes with a digital certificate of accuracy that no one can dispute.

The Technology

No jargon. Here is how it works.

1

Sensor reading is processed

When your IrriMAX sensor takes a reading, it is processed by our AI models (PULSE, SENTRY, WATCHDOG).

2

Digital fingerprints are created

Each step generates a digital fingerprint, like a tamper-evident seal on a medicine bottle.

3

Fingerprints are chained together

The fingerprints are linked. If anyone tampers with any step, the entire chain breaks and the tampering is immediately detectable.

4

One verification code summarizes everything

The final report includes a single verification code that summarizes the entire chain. An auditor can verify your entire season's data with that one code.

5

Raw data is never stored

Your raw sensor readings are never stored in our system. Only the digital fingerprints are kept.

What If My Sensor Goes Offline?

IrriMAX sensors occasionally lose connectivity. Here is exactly what happens.

Less than 24 hours

Short Outage

We estimate your readings using your last known data plus official CIMIS weather station data. Labeled clearly as an estimate with a documented uncertainty percentage.

Credits eligible, subject to auditor review.

1-2 days

Medium Outage

We use data from the nearest similar sensor site in your area. We document which site was used and why.

Credits eligible, auditor approval required.

More than 2 days

Long Outage

We use historical data from the same period in prior years (requires 3+ years of data).

Credits eligible with auditor approval, higher uncertainty acknowledged.

More than 7 days

Extended Outage

We declare the gap honestly. No credits for that period.

The conservative, legally safe option. Honest gaps are always acceptable to regulators.

In every case, the data quality is sealed into your attestation. We cannot quietly upgrade an estimate to look like a live reading after the fact. The system is designed to be honest by default.

The Business Model

Patent-Pending Technology

U.S. Patent Application No. 63/984,626 (filed February 17, 2026) covers the method of cryptographic data integrity verification across diamond-pattern multi-agent AI pipelines.

In plain English: the patent covers the specific way our system proves that every step from sensor reading to final report actually happened and was not tampered with.

No other precision agriculture company offers this level of verification. AgWaterAI holds an exclusive license for all agricultural applications.

This is the same class of verification used in financial services, now applied to agricultural water data for the first time.

Legal, Compliant, and Auditable

SGMA Reporting

California Water Code Sections 10720-10737 require farmers to report groundwater extraction annually. AgWaterAI does not change this requirement. Your SGMA report still contains your actual extraction numbers as required by law. What AgWaterAI adds is verifiable proof that your numbers are accurate.

VWBA 2.0 Methodology

Water Restoration Certificates are issued under the Volumetric Water Benefit Accounting framework developed by the World Resources Institute. AgWaterAI's verification system provides machine-verifiable proof of the measurements underlying WRC claims.

Farmer Privacy

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and agricultural data privacy principles require that farm operational data not be shared without consent. Our system stores verification proofs, not raw farm data.

Audit Ready

Any GSA, state water board, or third-party verifier can audit our attestation chain at any time using our public auditor portal. Every attestation is permanently recorded. Nothing can be altered after the fact.

We are pursuing discussions with SCS Global Services (a leading WRC verifier) and Bonneville Environmental Foundation (a leading WRC issuer) regarding potential recognition of our documentation technology. No methodology approval has been granted to date.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can see my sensor data?
No one outside AgWaterAI can see your raw sensor readings. We store digital fingerprints, not the actual data. Even AgWaterAI staff cannot share your operational details with regulators, competitors, or anyone else.
What if I don't want to sell water credits?
You don't have to. AgWaterAI's irrigation recommendations save you money on water and energy costs regardless of whether you participate in credit markets. The water credit opportunity is optional.
What could water credits be worth?
If water credit markets develop in your basin, potential returns depend on your water savings, your basin's regulatory status, and WRC pricing. As a hypothetical example, current WRC prices are approximately $4 per 1,000 gallons. A farm saving 100 acre-feet per year could potentially generate approximately $130,000 annually at those prices. The proposed farmer share would be 70%. Water credit markets are subject to regulatory development and GSA approval. No specific credit revenue is guaranteed.
What if my GSA doesn't have a water credit market yet?
Most GSAs are in early stages of groundwater credit markets. You can start building your documented savings record now. If your basin's market develops, you will have years of cryptographically documented savings history, a significant advantage over farmers who start later.
Is AgWaterAI sharing my data with the government?
No. Your SGMA report goes to your GSA as required by law -- you have always been required to submit this. AgWaterAI provides the verification technology. We do not submit data on your behalf or share anything with regulators that you have not already approved.
What happens to my data if AgWaterAI shuts down?
Your attestation records are permanently stored in a public database. The verification proofs are yours regardless of what happens to AgWaterAI. Any auditor can verify your historical records independently.
Is the patent approved?
The patent application was filed February 17, 2026 and is currently pending examination by the USPTO. Patent-pending status means the claims are filed and have a priority date -- no one can file an identical claim after that date. We expect examination to take 12-24 months.
Can competitors copy this?
To build the same level of verification, a competitor would need to either license our patent or build something less secure. The patent covers the method, not a specific implementation -- so changing the programming language or database does not avoid it.
How do I know my water savings calculations are accurate?
Our PULSE model achieves an R-squared of 0.93 on walk-forward temporal validation, meaning it explains approximately 93% of irrigation volume variation within established sites. Accuracy varies by site, season, and calibration status. It was trained on 320 site-years of Central Valley data. The cryptographic chain documents that each calculation was performed correctly on your actual sensor data. AI-generated outputs are for decision support only. Verify all outputs independently before acting.
