Our Story
AgWaterAI was founded in 2025 to bring AI-powered irrigation intelligence to California agriculture. Our platform combines four machine-learning systems, one mined-rules engine, and one deterministic planning alpha with 11M+ historical sensor readings and 9+ years of field data.
Our data foundation comes from a family irrigation consulting practice founded in 1984by a Cal Poly-trained agronomist. Our CEO, a second-generation Certified Crop Advisorwith 16+ years of field experience, serves 14,000+ acres of irrigation consulting across the Central Valley, with ~2,900 acres now running AI-connected sensors.
In 2025, he partnered with an AI engineer, now our CTO, to transform this 9-year, 11M+ reading sensor data asset into a scalable SaaS platform. Our engineering team built the entire AI pipeline (six decision systems with separate validation and evidence labels) plus the SGMA allocation estimator, real-time monitoring system, and predictive irrigation engine.
