Candidate acres for review

These are the acres where a project could start. Each row gives its status and the records behind it.

Kaweah and Kings subbasinsCitrusAbout 130Not yet for 2026; an earlier season can carry the benchmark number on the same run-time basis, as each record states. An earlier full season, gaps in the 2026 season, or a pump channel still to confirm
Madera CountyPistachio and mandarin citrusAbout 1,500Not yet.The GSA’s satellite ETAW per field, to be obtained with the grower’s authorization before anything is computed

Each record states its source and labels its water figure measured or estimated. For the 2026 citrus records, the figure is estimated applied water, calculated from logged pump run-time and the block application rate (not a flow meter reading), and compared with a named and dated DWR county applied-water estimate for the crop. For the 2026 Madera County records, for farm units confirmed in the applicable Madera County GSA account, the figure is the GSA’s own satellite ETAW, a GSA-reported estimate, compared with a DWR county ETAW estimate on the same consumptive-use basis. Your GSA’s number is the official one. Meter readings may be shown separately for comparison, each labelled measured or estimated.

From our own records as of October 7, 2026, rounded to the nearest 10 acres. Blocks in a probationary basin are left out. Block identities and the evidence behind each row are shared under NDA with the grower’s authorization.

How each record would be made is on the method page.

AgWaterAI is irrigation decision software that shows permanent-crop growers their water use against their groundwater allocation each week, built on proprietary field data and delivered through the grower's own crop adviser.
